Dental Work - Fog Of Summer Ghosts (Placenta Recordings #470 - 2018)

Dental Work - Fog Of Summer Ghosts (Placenta Recordings #470 - 2018)

An album of field recordings I took between spring and fall of 2018, woven together as a spiritual nightmare, a journey into my subconscious and the things that take place around me. You will hear me “playing” an acoustic guitar on this album. You will hear me “playing” a piano. You will hear decaying radio frequencies and the ghosts within. You will hear my grandmother playing a harmonica. You will hear true crime. A woman angrily mowing the lawn. You will hear PISS. Scattered R & B lost and found GPS directions. Eating at a Mongolian buffet. Conversations of Russian Muslim women. It’s all here. This album also features vocals. Me screaming about bagels. My entire oral surgery. Samples, samples, and more samples. Forbidden saxophones. You may additionally hear me creating guitar fuzz riffs, drum tracks, bass lines, and making fashion statements entirely with my mouth. Secret Italian horror fetishes, dodging laundry mat mamacitas to get to the speed queen, like Christ. Static jazz, withering love letters, traditional symphony chamber music + BDSM and more y’all...Songs about dead birds, burritos, Ghidorah, Toilets, Drugs, Cowardice, Speed, Lawn maintenance, breaking records, onions, trust, and you. Music about corn flakes, boxes of penises, corpses with unusual dental work, crowdfunding, the devil and god, knife bang, Mexican Town, puppies, Nintendo, acid, triggers, Canadian weather reports, and your life. Something to blaze to as Top Authority once said.

Released November 3, 2018

1 year in the making, an extremely personal album from the leader of the group Dental Work Jay Watson, crafted entirely out of field recordings taken between winter of 2017 and fall of 2018.
